RANDOM FACTS

I use way too many exclamation marks, but I'm really just that excited!!!! I want to know what moves your heart. I say "that's so funny" quite a bit, but it can mean a number of things. I am a lover of donuts and tea. I floss every night before bed! I love the idea of being spontaneous, but rarely do things unplanned. I am the youngest of four girls, but I'm taller than all my sisters. I would love to open a cafe someday. I am fascinated by the bridegroom God and his ravished heart for all of humanity

Gary + Michelle’s Anniversary Session in Loma Linda!

My dear friend (and fellow photographer) Michelle and her husband Gary celebrated their 4 years of marriage with this lovely photoshoot. Since they love to travel, Gary gifted Michelle this beautiful world map for their anniversary and I had the honor of capturing them “pinning” all the places that they’ve visited together. Such a cute idea, right?! I always get to hear about their crazy fun adventures when they come home and it totally makes me want to see more of the world, too! (hint hint, Benny! hehe) Michelle is actually in Korea for a few months to teach English right now and I am starting to miss her dearly. So this post is not only for all of you to enjoy, but for me too, as I cope with her absence! Haha. Hope you are having the time of your life, Michelle! Come home to us sooon! : )

River Oaks Baptist, Houston Wedding: Terry and Amanda!

Terry and Amanda are two of the most loving people you will ever meet. They are so generous and so kind they make you feel at home no matter where you are. My husband Benny and Terry actually grew up together in New Orleans with a few other close friends and I love how even though many of them live far away, they are always able to just pick up where they left off. They feel like family! I feel so honored to be a part of this group of friends now and I’m SO happy that Amanda is too! Yay!

When Terry and Amanda invited us to attend their wedding in Texas I was THRILLED at the opportunity to be their photographer! They were such a fun couple to work with and I really enjoyed meeting all of their family and friends. Everyone was so warm and welcoming! : ) The day after their wedding all their relatives were giving us suggestions on places to visit during our stay in Houston. And even Amanda, who should have been resting, kept texting and emailing me places that were “must sees” in the area, on the way to her honeymoon. See what I mean? They go above and beyond to love on those around them. We are so blessed to know you!

Terry and Amanda had their ceremony at River Oaks Baptist Church in Houston and I fell so in love with the high ceiling, huge windows, and the crisp white walls. It was a beautiful church to get married in! I am SO happy for you two! Congrats again and can’t wait to see you soon! : )

Lacy Park Family Session with The Lis

Baby Dylan was only 6 weeks old when we had this photo session. He was so tiny and so fragile and just darn cute in his little outfit! : ) It’s an incredible honor for me to photograph babies when they are so fresh into this world. The baby’s first year is such a special season for the family and I love seeing the joy and excitement on the parents’ faces each time they get to look into their baby’s eyes. These are the precious moments that I love capturing and my hope is that these photographs will one day remind the parents just how small their baby once was and tell the kids how much they were loved and adored from the very start. Baby Dylan, you are SO loved!

Lacy Park Family Session with the Chungs!

I love Fall/Winter sessions! (Winter counts as Fall here in California!) The leaves are colorful and the palette is so warm. If you love Fall too, I hope you’ll enjoy this session with the Chungs! Julia and her brother both came into town for the holidays, and I’m so glad we were able to fit in a session with their whole family during their stay. When Julia first contacted me, she mentioned she knew my older sisters, but it was such a fun surprise to find out during the session that our husbands knew each other from New Orleans! What a small world! Now without further ado, the Chung Family! : )

    He Makes All Things New

Yesterday at church we talked about the God of new beginnings. Oh how He loves to make all things new! I want a renewed desire for His word, a new desire for His presence. With everything going on, with LIFE going on, it’s so easy to run dry without even knowing it. I want to slow down in 2014 and remember that the ONLY source of life is in Him.

What do you need God to renew in 2014? Let’s make this year a year of new beginnings!

Merriman’s Kapalua Maui, Hawaii Wedding with Stephen + Yuli!

After Benny and I got married in October we didn’t have much time to settle down. Shortly after our honeymoon in Barcelona (will share pics from there another time!) we were off again for two weddings in two different locations!…And this was all within a week! Our first destination was Maui, Hawaii. (Yahoo!) Stephen and Yuli got married at Merriman’s Kapalua and the view was just breathtaking. The ceremony overlooked the ocean with the beach just a few steps away. It was a dream! I couldn’t be happier with my first destination wedding- the whole day went beautifully and there were many tears of joy. We are so happy we got to celebrate with you, Stephen + Yuli! Thank you for having me! : ) Yuli was just so beautiful! If we didn’t have a wedding to get to I could have photographed her all day!

    2013 Weddings!

I was so blessed to work with some of the most amazing people this year. My 2013 couples will always hold a special place in my heart, because I had the privilege of journeying with them through the whole wedding planning process as I prepared for my own. All of your stories are beautiful and I am so so SO blessed to be a part of it! Thank you for having me!!

    2013 Portrait Sessions!

What a wonderful year it has been! Thought it would be cool to create a collage of all the different families, businesses, and celebrations I had the privilege of photographing in 2013. Thank you so much, it has been such an honor! : ) Looking forward to seeing your faces again in 2014 as well as meeting new friends! : )

Stay tuned for my 2013 engagement sessions + wedding collage!
