RANDOM FACTS

I use way too many exclamation marks, but I'm really just that excited!!!! I want to know what moves your heart. I say "that's so funny" quite a bit, but it can mean a number of things. I am a lover of donuts and tea. I floss every night before bed! I love the idea of being spontaneous, but rarely do things unplanned. I am the youngest of four girls, but I'm taller than all my sisters. I would love to open a cafe someday. I am fascinated by the bridegroom God and his ravished heart for all of humanity

    Happy 2 Months Benny!

    www.shelleypaulson.com

Happy 2 months of marriage to my favorite person! : ) What a blessing these two months have been. I love starting my mornings with you and planning out our schedule for the day together. I love trying new cafes and searching for the latest dessert craze with you, getting Osmanthus Oolong Tea (or just Green Tea, depending on our mood) spontaneously, and watching one or two or three episodes of our favorite tv show at the end of the day. Every day is like a new adventure with you and I am so grateful for this season in our lives! Thank you for being so good to me and loving me always (especially when I’m moody and pouty and being so unreasonable!). You are so patient with me and always so kind. Thank you, Benny. I love you sooo much! : ) Cheers to many more months! (…and years!)

Andrew + Ying Part ONE: Viceroy Santa Monica Hotel Engagement Session

So excited to kick off blogging again with this classy session of Andrew and Ying. When we first met up they were a few weeks away from their wedding and we had so much fun sharing stories of our engagement period together. While it was too rushed to actually take their engagement pictures before they were married, we planned and brainstormed ideas for a full day session in Los Angeles anyway! A few weeks after their wedding we headed out to The Viceroy in Santa Monica for the first part of their session and oh! how I LOVE this venue! The bright colored walls and decor were the perfect backdrop for Andrew and Ying. They are ambitious people with high dreams and such generous hearts. Stay tuned for part two! : )

    My Kansas City Engagement Session!

In exactly one month Benny and I will celebrate our 1 year by getting MARRIED! WOOHOO! We both still can’t believe this is real! haha. For our 6 month anniversary we took a trip to Kansas City where everything first started for us. We thought it would be special to have our engagement session there to remember the beginning stages of our relationship. Kansas City will forever hold a special place in our hearts! : ) Unfortunately, we both caught the stomach flu on that trip so it was kind of a crazy experience, haha. Benny was just recovering from it and I was still going through it. In fact, we had to make an emergency stop for me to use the bathroom on the way to the shoot! But thankfully, we made it through the session alive and have these beautiful photographs by Steven Michael to remember our engagement season by. Thank you Steven!

And yay Benny! We are almost there! Happy 11 months!

Thousand Oaks Engagement Session: Kayce + Tim

Kayce and Tim have such a beautiful love story. Every time I think about it I am reminded of God’s goodness and just how perfect His timing is. Tim and Kayce coming together was literally an answered prayer and it all started when Kayce began school at Cal State Long Beach. Long Beach was farther from home and naturally, the transition was difficult. There was one particular school day when Kayce was feeling especially discouraged about her situation. She sat by herself and prayed desperately for a community of friends. Almost immediately, a few guys from class came up to her to ask if she wanted to hang out with their group of friends downstairs. Kayce followed along that day not knowing that she was about to meet a great group of people and the man she would spend the rest of her life with! : ) Ahh, don’t you love it?!

I know Kayce from high school. She is my sister Eunice’s year, but we were all on the cheer team together. (good times!) I am so thankful for this opportunity to connect with Kayce again and to meet Tim. Thank you for a wonderful session you two! I can’t wait to celebrate with you in November! : )
