Oh how I love my hometown! : ) Anna, Chris, and I went to Temple City High School together and their wedding was a mini reunion with lots familiar faces; I had such a wonderful time! Anna and Chris were wedded at the beautiful Darlington House in La Jolla. The place had so much personality Michelle (thank you for helping me Michelle!) and I had so much fun capturing all the details!
Thank you for treating me like family, Anna + Chris! I feel right at home with you two and I am honored to have been a part of your big day! Blessings!
Erin and Greg have such big hearts. They love well and give themselves to so many around them. Even upon our first meeting I remember being so moved by their dedication to family, driving out to see their grandparents every weekend. (I have so much to learn from them!) It’s no wonder they had so many guests at their wedding, fully supporting them and celebrating with such joy! Their bridal party was so much fun too and brought lots of laughs throughout the day. I especially enjoyed their crazy dance moves; I couldn’t stop laughing behind the lens! haha. Oh, everyone had such a great time!
I do want to share a special story behind Erin and Greg’s party favors. They decided to give out these fun-dipped fortune cookies (pictures below), because early on in their relationship when Greg was just pursuing Erin, he received a fortune that said he would soon obtain what he had been seeking. Greg kept this fortune in his wallet and took it as a sign. He continued to pursue Erin and eventually won her over! I LOVE how these favors were birthed out of such a special memory : )
Thank you Michelle for coming along to shoot this wedding with me! LOVE having you! We don’t even have to try, it’s always a good time, hehe!
Remember Amy and Erick from their bright and cheery engagement session? After our time together I couldn’t stop dreaming about their wedding day- Amy is an artist as well and I knew all the details for the wedding would be wonderful. Below you’ll see the SUPER cute invites she designed herself…you’re amazing Amy! Working with another artist was definitely so much fun. I remember talking about colors and fonts with her during one of our first tea dates- we could have talked forever!
Shortly after their wedding in July Amy and Erick took a road trip across the country from California to Kentucky where Erick is now attending seminary. I was lucky enough to be in Kansas City when they passed through and we shared a hearty meal together, remembering all the joy from their big day. Yes, JOY is really the perfect word to describe their day! While Amy and Erick are just joyful people by nature, mix that in with lots of excited guests, pops of cheerful yellows, and overwhelming love from the family, and you get JOY on a whole ‘nother level! I loved celebrating with you two, thank you for having me!
And thank you Maritha for being such a huge help to me that day! Really enjoyed our talks in the car and your calming presence throughout the day. Stay tuned for part 2 of this beautiful wedding- you’re going to love all the details from their banquet!
Venue: Bel Air Presbyterian Church
Make-up and Hair: Beauty By Jill
Thinking about Catherine and Victor’s wedding makes me happy: beautiful couple, beautiful venue, beautiful community of family and friends. This is the perfect recipe for a good time!
When Cat + Victor’s engagement session first went public, their post got close to 2,000 views the very first day! I was so surprised (at the time this was the most views I had in one day!) and remember thinking how popular these two must be! Getting to know them better as their wedding drew closer I was able to see just why people were so drawn to them; They are both hilarious (and a bit quirky, too!) and can make just about anyone feel comfortable. And their wedding was just that- it felt safe and like “home,” with so many friends and families around celebrating their love. Thank you for inviting me in to join in on all the fun! : )
Also, a huge THANK YOU to Jen Fuji for 2nd shooting with me that day. I loved having you on board and really enjoyed our talks : )the first look! Ok, I was tearing as I edited these pictures. There’s something about how simple their love is that is just so beautiful! (And yes, Victor did indeed pick wildflowers to give to Cat!) LOVE this bridal party! They were such a fun crowd : )so fun, all the bridesmaids wore different dresses!
I really love quiet moments during the wedding day. Here, the girls took Cat upstairs for a time of prayer as people trickled in…And now, let the wedding begin! : ) Cat and Victor’s UCLA friends doing the 8-clap! Of course I joined in! : )After the first dance I stole Cat and Victor away for sunset pictures. We had an amazing backdrop for the newlyweds and the woodsy feel to these portraits is SO Cat!
Ooooh, so happy for you two! Congrats again on being married and blessings upon blessings as you begin your new lives together in Philly!
Back in March I attended a workshop held by the amazing Caroline Tran. Now that some of our work have been published I get to share them with you here! : ) We had a pretty packed day at The Langham in Pasadena and Caroline provided us with lots and lots of lovely things to eat and photograph. Thank you Caroline for this opportunity and thank you Skybox Events for organizing it all! Enjoy and stay tuned for part 2 from the workshop : )
Sonia was our model for the afternoon. She was married a year ago and this beautiful dress was her actual wedding dress! : )
Thank you to all the lovely vendors who made everything so beautiful!
Happy Friday to all my blog readers! I have a special treat for you all today- Amy and Peter’s wedding! I just sent off their package in the mail and can’t wait to share these images here.
I mentioned this in their engagement post, but I just need to say again how happy I am for Amy and Peter. Seriously, my heart is filled with nothing but JOY when it comes to these two. My beautiful cousin Amy and her now husband Peter are really so perfect for each other with their love for people, kind heart, and such a gentle spirit. I loved being a part of their celebration!
This wedding was especially special for me, because being the youngest cousin on my dad’s side of the family I was always known as the “baby” and was never able to hold more “grown-up” conversations with my relatives until more recently. Even though I grew up seeing my cousins periodically photography really became a way for me to connect with my relatives on a deeper level. I love that so so much. It was SO great being able to photograph this wedding and getting to know Amy in a different way. Wow, what an honor! : )
A special THANK YOU to Loretta Wang for 2nd shooting and driving me around that day! : ) Now without further ado, the lovely couple!
Amy and her bridesmaids spent the night at the Westin in Irvine and that’s where our day began…
Peter waited patiently in the lobby as Amy finished last minute touches. I love that they decided to take their “first look” before the wedding!
After group photos around the Westin we headed to EFC Irvine where the wedding took place.
My beautiful cousin Amy and her man Peter were married last week, woohoo! : ) I couldn’t be more excited to share with you their engagement pictures today and a few sneak peeks from their wedding day below.
Amy and Peter are so perfect for each other. I remember Amy’s kindness from childhood when we used to visit their home. My sister and I would bring our bunnies and they would poop all over her room. Amy never got angry, just laughed and picked up after our bunnies. She was always so gentle with us and we loved our visits! Peter is just as kind and just as gentle. Amy and Peter, I am SO happy for you two! : )
It wasn’t supposed to rain the day of our shoot, but it did anyway. Luckily, we were able to find shelter and a not so rainy sky and have a wonderful shoot anyway : ) Love these two!
And here are a few sneak peeks from their beautiful wedding day! : ) Stay tuned for a full post soon!
The moment I walked into Eliza’s hotel room I felt welcomed. She has a way with people, making us feel at ease with her sweet joy and generous spirit. I saw this throughout the day as Eliza and Eric interacted with their wedding party, friends, and guests. The wedding was beautiful and so much fun to be a part of! Oh, what an honor it was to second shoot. Thank you to the very talented Daniel Chae of Dchae for having me on your team!
Here we go! : )
The ceremony took place at Castle Green in Pasadena.Â
Oh Eliza, you’re beautiful! I love all of your emotions and the way you feel so deeply.
After the vows and exchanging of rings Eric, Eliza, and the entire wedding party danced their way our to Marry You by Bruno Mars! Everyone loved it!
Gil and Tiffany were married last September in the city of Gardena. I recently bumped into these two at my good friend’s wedding last weekend and it totally inspired me to post some pictures from their wedding! : ) Thank you Connie Lyu for having me second shoot and thank you Gil and Tiffany for allowing me to be a part of your special day. It really was so great to see you two last weekend and I’m so glad to hear that you’re both doing well!
The center pieces were ceramic vases created by Tiffany’s mom. I love that they included something so special into their wedding day.
Congrats again Gil and Tiffany! Bless you two! : )
