RANDOM FACTS

I use way too many exclamation marks, but I'm really just that excited!!!! I want to know what moves your heart. I say "that's so funny" quite a bit, but it can mean a number of things. I am a lover of donuts and tea. I floss every night before bed! I love the idea of being spontaneous, but rarely do things unplanned. I am the youngest of four girls, but I'm taller than all my sisters. I would love to open a cafe someday. I am fascinated by the bridegroom God and his ravished heart for all of humanity

Newborn Session with Zara Dawn Hui

Everyone meet the newest addition to my very big family of (soon to be) 19! Zara came on the first day of March and was welcomed by so many loved ones. She is growing so much every day and is a constant reminder of God’s perfect leadership in our lives.

I love what my sister Eunice wrote about where Zara’s name came from:

“Zara was named after the city Zarephath where, in the time of famine, God continuously multiplied a widow”s last portion of flour and oil (1 Kgs 17). Not only did her home become a source of life for her family and the prophet Elijah, but her story a testament that God chooses to draw near to the poor in spirit and a reminder that He ses those who are unseen. We also believe that Zara’s birth signifies a dawning of a new season of hope for us as well as for others.”

And real quick! My sister wrote an article for Inheritance Magazine earlier this year about motherhood. Check it out! : )

    Natalie’s 3 Months!

I have another treat for you this week! : ) Here are Natalie’s 3 month pictures! This cutie belongs to my cousin David and his beautiful wife Gwen. Remember Ollie’s 3 months post from a while back? That was Natalie’s cousin- how fun that they are just a few months apart and will grow up together!

Gwen and David have a beautiful home and I love that we were able to take these photos at their place- they have such great taste! What a fun session we had chatting over coffee, taking these fun photos, and then sharing a feast at Gyu-Kaku afterwards. Thank you so much for a fun time and taking such great care of me! : ) Look forward to hanging out with your family again soon!

Shiloh’s 2 Years! + a sneak peek of baby Zara

My sister Eunice’s beautiful family of three (now four!). These were taken around Shiloh’s 2nd birthday, December of last year. How things have changed for this family since then! Here Shiloh is about to be a big sister and she doesn’t even know it! : )
and a few months later, we welcomed this baby girl into the world. Here’s a sneak-peek of Zara’s first photoshoot! : )

    Ollie’s 3 Months!

I am so excited to introduce you to my cousin’s family! Charles and Angela’s baby boy Oliver was just 3 months old when we had our session and he is just adorable!! His facial expressions and cute little outfits just melt my heart.

My cousin Charles has always been the jokester in our family and I love how it shows in these pictures. Thanks for having me, I really enjoyed spending time with you three. Charles and Angela, you two are so much fun and already SUCH great parents! Can’t wait to see you guys again next week! I love this last shot of Angela, her mom, and baby Ollie.

    Anna’s 18 Months

What better way to celebrate Anna’s 18 months than with a play date at the beach?! Anna loves the sand and has so many colorful toys to keep her busy, and so it only made sense to spend our session doing something she enjoys! : )

As always, it was lovely hanging out with the Chens! And I will be spending some time with them in Kansas City (where my sister lives!) later this month too! How lucky am I?! Anyway! Here is cute little Anna with her adorable baby blue swimsuit!..with frills!! I wonder if they make them in adult sizes?! hehe Anna is quite the runner! She’s so hard to catch! : )

    David’s 3 months!

There’s nothing quite like a mother and father’s love. I’m realizing that more and more as I grow older and as I started photographing more families in the past two years. Watching how parents interact with their kids is one of my favorites; I always learn so much and leave the session feeling loved myself, knowing that my parents must have interacted with me in the same way when I was a child. I feel so privileged to capture these moments- yes, for the parents, but even more so for these kiddies. When they grow older I hope these photographs will remind them just how much their parents love them and how they were treasured from the very beginning! : )

Last night while leaving Old Town Pasadena I heard someone call my name. I turned to see Naomi and Henry walking behind me! : ) So fun! They were out celebrating their anniversary (today!) and so I thought it was only appropriate to post their pictures to join in on the celebration! HAPPY ANNIVERSARY! Hope you two had a relaxing night! : )

    Daniel’s 1 Year!

I met the Dustan and Cheryl even before baby Daniel (who really insn’t a baby anymore!) was born. They were just parents-to-be at the time and I fell in love with them during our maternity shoot. Then I had the pleasure of meeting Daniel for the first time a few months later for his newborn session, fell in love with his laugh and smile during his 4 months session, witnessed his almost-first steps for his 8 months, and finally had the such a great time photographing his 1 year. Baby Daniel (I still can’t stop calling him that!) really isn’t a baby anymore! He’s up and running with so much energy! What a handsome little fellow he his! : )

Cheryl, Dustan, and Daniel- thank you SO much for allowing me to be a part of your lives this past year and a half. It’s been such a pleasure and SUCH an honor! I can’t wait for the next time I get to see you all! : )

    Olivia’s 6 Months!

I can’t believe how fast my little niece is growing! Born last November, Olivia is now past 6 months. So thankful that I am able to capture little moments of this cutie’s life. She has been such a joyful baby from the beginning and I’m so sure her smile will melt your heart!
For Livie’s 6 month shoot we decided to bring in some of the yummy treats she’s starting to enjoy (And for those wondering that purple thing in the picture is purple yams! If you’ve never had it before, you are missing out! haha. Try it now at an Asian market near you!).
And now some of older sister Angelina, who had just turned 4 when we took these pictures! My other sister (..and her husband + baby girl!) and I gifted Lina this sandbox for her 4th birthday; She loves it! : )
