RANDOM FACTS

I use way too many exclamation marks, but I'm really just that excited!!!! I want to know what moves your heart. I say "that's so funny" quite a bit, but it can mean a number of things. I am a lover of donuts and tea. I floss every night before bed! I love the idea of being spontaneous, but rarely do things unplanned. I am the youngest of four girls, but I'm taller than all my sisters. I would love to open a cafe someday. I am fascinated by the bridegroom God and his ravished heart for all of humanity

    Shiloh’s 1 Year!

Shiloh is a huge blessing and joy to our family! It’s only been a little over a year since she entered this world, but it’s hard to imagine a time without her. I loved getting to know her and discovering her personality this past year- ahh, just thinking about her now makes me smile! : ) Shiloh is such a joyful baby. She loves to smile and laugh and more recently, “stretch” and dance. I can’t wait until she can talk more (right now it’s mostly MAAAA or babababa)…I’m sure we’ll have much to chat about! : ) I feel so so privileged to be a part of this little girl’s life and to love on her as an auntie. Happy 1 year Shi!

And just for fun, here’s a peek into our last sessions.

Shiloh was actually feeling pretty sick when we took her 1 year photos. She’s usually much more smiley, but she did so well and was SUCH a trooper since it was quite cold outside that day. For this shoot my sister thought it would be special to have Shiloh’s grandparents in the pictures (I couldn’t agree more!) and so here they are! : )

After taking some photos with the grandparents, Shiloh had a zoned-out moment. She just rested on Ben’s face for a while. Poor thing!

More with the grandparents! Here is my dad playing music with some random leaves he found. That’s his specialty, actually. He can pick up just about anything off the trees or from the ground and start making music! Shiloh liked it : )

And just for fun, I took some portraits for Eunie and Ben. You guys both looks SO good! : )

and that’s it for today! : ) Thanks for reading!

    Family Session with the IPS!

Once upon a time a man and a woman fell in love…

They had three beautiful children, who then fell in love too…

And then they had beautiful children…

They make up such a beautiful family : )

Thank you so much for such a wonderful session! : )

    Anna’s 1 Year!

One of the biggest JOYS of being a children’s photographer is watching these kiddies grow. I loved being there to photograph Anna when she could barely open up her eyes, when she was just learning how to smile, laugh, sit up, tummy time…everything! Ever since she was a newborn, Anna has been such a laid-back and joyful one and I feel so privileged to have captured her first year. This is Anna at 1 year old! : )

And just for fun, here are some pictures from each session we had leading up to Anna’s 1 year. I not only love to see how much Anna has grown, but how much I have grown as a photographer! I feel embarrassed posting pictures from earlier last year because I feel that my style has changed a bit from then, but here they are anyway!

    Now back to Anna’s 1st birthday shoot! : )

Here Anna is telling you that she turned “1.” Good job Anna! : )

Timmy and Judy, congratulations!! You made it through your first year as parents and you both did such an amazing job..what an accomplishment! : ) Thank you for such fun memories with your family this year. I love you guys so much! : )

    Family Session with the Chius!

Let me introduce you to the Chius everyone! They’re fun and super bright and we had the best session together : ) I was so excited to finally meet this family after hearing so many good things about them and how cute their children are. Yes, they are indeed awesome and the two little ones are SO much fun! : )

I love it when parents switch off, one hopping into the picture and the other dancing, making funny noises and silly faces, whatever it takes to get the kiddies’ attention. Great teamwork guys! : )

    Beautiful family, I know! : )

And now just the parents…I love this part : )

The youngest member of the Chius was just learning how to walk and I’m so glad I was able to capture this moment for the family!

    Thanks for reading! : )

    Daniel’s 8 Months!

One of the greatest joys as a photographer is sharing life with the people I meet. I love being there to capture the growth of a family, much like the Durretts. Cheryl and Dustan first contacted me for a maternity session last March and I feel like I’ve been following them ever since. This is my 4th session with the Durretts and I absolutely LOVE being a part of their lives!

For this session, baby Daniel (who really isn’t a baby anymore!) was already standing on his own and taking mini steps (and dancing!) with the help of his mommy and daddy. SO proud of him! : )

There were a group of guys playing basketball to our right. Daniel kept looking over at them…it was the cutest thing! Perhaps he’ll be a basketball player one day! : )

Don’t you love his Christmas hat?

It is a JOY watching you grow, Daniel! Hope you all have a wonderful time with your family in Australia : )

    The Beautiful Maas Family

The beautiful Maas family (yes, beautiful is really part of their name…) were in town a few weeks ago and I had the privilege of taking their portraits during their stay. Joy, Desiree, Berea, and Perazim (and Jonathan, their oldest brother who couldn’t join us this time!) are from Kansas City where my oldest sister lives and together they joined our family in Los Angeles for Thanksgiving. I had so much fun getting to know them individually and as a family and wow, they were such a blessing have. SUCH a blessing!

This family really is a beautiful one. Their joy and strength are such an encouragement to me and I feel so blessed to know them. A few years back they sold all they had and left their homes to work with the orphans in India. They were only there for four weeks when unexpectedly, Joy’s husband got sick and went to be with Jesus. How at that moment they chose to trust in God and worship when nothing made sense, moves my heart. I loved hearing their testimony- how God turned their mourning into dancing, bringing so much hope and peace when life was turned upside-down. Joy, Desiree, Berea, and Parazim, thank you so much for sharing your lives with us. I can’t wait to visit you all soon!

    Family Session with the Chungs!

Happy November everyone! : ) There’s just something cozy about this time of the year and it makes me feel warm inside just thinking about the start of the holiday season. To celebrate, I’ll be sharing some pictures of the Chungs!

So I introduced you to my neighbors Susan and Mayumi a few post back. Well, these are my other neighbors, the Chungs! They moved in earlier this year and it was great getting to know them better through this session. Richard is a youth pastor at a local church and is married to his beautiful wife Connie (There is a gorgeous picture of her from their wedding day, hanging by the front door..love it!). There are two little boys in this family and they are simply adorable (For proof, just look below!).  The short session we had in their backyard was definitely not enough time for the boys to show me all their cool jumps and tricks and…leaves from their tree! Haha, it’s a good thing I’m just next door so we can continue the fun soon! : )

So here are the two little ones. They are so full of LIFE! I found out after posting a sneak-peek that my girlfriend Candace has the older one in her Kindergarten class! What a small world.

    Here they are being silly…

SO fun! See all of you soon! : )

PORTRAIT SESSION WITH MAYUMI & SUSAN

Mayumi and Susan are two women I totally admire. They are ambitious, strong, and my friendly neighbors! : ) We lived next door to each other for as long as I can remember and I have such fond memories of movie nights and tea parties over at their home. Susan is just one year older than I am and one year younger than my third sister Eunice so we all became very close during elementary school. I miss those days where we would come back from class, hang out at my house, eat yummy snacks, and play Chinese jump rope (Who else loves this game?! I was pretty good at it- went all the way up to waist-ees!). What a pleasure it was to take portraits for these two that I respect and love so much.

While I feel like I’m much closer to Susan, simply because we’re closer in age, I’ve been getting to know Mayumi more than just a “fun mom” recently and more as a person and as a business woman. I love that! Since she started her own skin care salon 17 years ago, she has much wisdom to share and I have much to learn from her. Mayumi first started Scent of Lavender in a little space she rented out from a hair salon. Now, she has her own place in San Marino. I know she has worked extremely hard to get to where she is now and I feel inspired just thinking about her journey. So everyone, if you need a facial (I’m going in for one tomorrow! : )), skin care products, or just inspiration, check out Scent of Lavender!

Now Susan! Oh, Susan. She is currently attending Med School at UCSD and I am so proud of her! She is not only a dreamer and a high achiever, but she also has the discipline and determination to make these dreams come true. Susan is bright, smart (She used to help me with all my calculus homework!), and totally tough (don’t mess with her!). I admire her for always keepin’ it real. You’re beautiful, Susanna (don’t call her that- it’s not her real name! I don’t know why I love to, though…).

I love it when these two are together. I wish I could record their conversations for you, because they’re just so fun! Btw, Susan and Mayumi are both really into Yoga. Check out Susan’s crazy pose a few pictures down!

I am lucky to have such wonderful neighbors. Thank you for such a wonderful session and for the delicious sushi you guys treated me out to afterwards! : ) Bless you!

Do you all remember baby Daniel?! He has grown so much since the last time I saw him (that was back in May!). Daniel is now 4 months old and quite the charmer… He was smiling and laughing for most of our shoot and I loved watching it all from behind my camera. What a handsome little man you are, Daniel! : )

And look, he learned how to talk on the phone! : ) hehe

I love how Cheryl and Dustan included this stuffed doggie in all of our sessions. It’s such a great way to see how much Daniel has grown/will grow this year! If you missed the past photoshoots, check out their maternity session and our first session with baby Daniel.

Thank you Durretts, for another great session. It’s always a pleasure : ) I’m totally looking forward to the next one!

    Shiloh’s 6 Months!

[“LIKE” this blogpost and leave a comment below to enter for another chance to win a FREE PHOTOSHOOT!]

I’m sure you all remember my adorable niece Shiloh from her newborn session and her 3 month shoot. She has grown SO much since then and I’m super excited to share these pictures with you : )

Two weeks ago my brother-in-law went out of town for a church conference so Eunice and Shiloh came to stay with me at my parents’ house (they were also out of town, so it was just the three of us..super fun!). Shiloh and I got to bond so much that week, my brother-in-law got super jealous! haha, jk Ben. But I did love bonding with her through napping and playing and even dancing in the middle of the night when she woke up for her feeding…my sister and I realized that was NOT a good idea when she got too excited and wouldn’t go back to sleep! haha

Do you think my sister and I look alike?! People used to think we were twins all the time. Anyway, wait til you see Shiloh’s cute lil’ swimsuit! Perfect for summer : )

I love you so much Shi! : )
