RANDOM FACTS

I use way too many exclamation marks, but I'm really just that excited!!!! I want to know what moves your heart. I say "that's so funny" quite a bit, but it can mean a number of things. I am a lover of donuts and tea. I floss every night before bed! I love the idea of being spontaneous, but rarely do things unplanned. I am the youngest of four girls, but I'm taller than all my sisters. I would love to open a cafe someday. I am fascinated by the bridegroom God and his ravished heart for all of humanity

    The Hos

Two Sundays ago I spent the day with the Hos. My cousin Esther and her husband Ed just brought home their new baby girl, Eleanor, and had asked me to come over to take a few photos of their new bundle of joy. Now here is their beautiful family of 5! I love how even baby Ellie is smiling in this one! : )
The boys are so sweet. As soon as I walked in the door they came to welcome me and help me with the bags I was carrying. So thoughtful! I got a quick tour of the their beautiful home (it was my first time there!) and then got started. Esther was so excited because Ellie was actually awake for the shoot! She’s such a beautiful girl! : )
And now look at little Alex saying hello to his baby sister… so cute!
While Ellie rested I got to hang out with the boys for a bit. They are super silly and so much fun! The Hos have a nice little park right outside their house so Alex and Jacob showed me their cool scooter skills! I’m not gonna lie- I was a bit nervous for the boys..they ride so fast! We ended our shoot with a few group pictures…
haha, love this last shot! Oh, what a beautiful, beautiful, beautiful family! : ) After the shoot we met up with our other cousins for dinner at a little ramen place nearby. yumm, perfect way to end a lovely day : ) Thank you for such a fun time. Can’t wait to visit you guys again!

    Happy 3 Months Anna!

It’s not always easy following your dreams. Of course there are days when I feel like I can just fly and conquer the world, but then there are those other days when it all gets overwhelming and even something fun like editing photos, is difficult. It’s during those days when I am reminded of how important it is to be around supportive and uplifting people..people like Judy.
I’m super thankful that I was able to spend the morning with Judy and baby Anna two weekends ago. I can’t believe how fast her little one is growing! This was the first time we met up in the morning for a shoot and I was so excited because Anna was in the best mood ever! See for yourself : )
so funny, Anna was very focused on the ruffles on her pants…and this wonderful backdrop?! Judy made this quilt for Anna. I love all the colors!
And now, the many faces of Anna Beth Chen!
Anna was born with a lot of hair. Can you tell? We took a little break from taking photos to water it down and tie it up. Tadaaa!
Thank you for such a wonderful shoot Judy and Anna! And thank you Judy for all your prayers, encouragement, and words of wisdom. I am so blessed to have you! : )

    Happy 3 Months Shiloh!

Shiloh is currently napping in my sister’s old bedroom as I write this post. It’s right next door to my room and I keep thinking she’s making noises, but that’s just the birds/owls?! outside my window; I swear they chirp/hoot like a baby’s whimper. But that’s besides the point.
Shiloh and Meghan, my other niece, are exactly three months apart (minus 1 day). So when we took pictures for Meghan’s 6 months we also took pictures for Shi’s 3 months. I really like the blue interior of the beach house we visited and love the way it compliments Shiloh’s outfits. My sister and I actually went shopping the day before and came back with a whole wardrobe for this little one. And now…. her fashion show!
    little jellies!

This here is Shiloh’s famous furrowed brows! She’s always very intense and it’s so stinkin’ cute! We wonder what she thinks about?
I love this next picture of Shi and just how soft it feels. It describes her perfectly- even her cry is soft and delicate.
and now Shiloh’s up so I’ll end with these last pictures : ) Shiloh and her last outfit change for the day and below that, Shiloh with mommy and daddy! Love you, Shi. Now i’m going to go play with you!

    Photoshoot Giveaway Winner Kelly Lee

Everyone Meet Kelly, the winner to my Valentine’s Day photoshoot giveaway!
Kelly and I met up shortly after the winner to my contest was announced. We met up over tea one rainy night and I think we were both so thankful that this photoshoot helped us reconnect (it’s been about 4 years since the last time we caught up!). I really do love that about my job : )
Kelly decided to have her family photographed for the free session and so we met up last weekend to make it happen. The Lees are such a fun bunch! There was so much laughing during our time together and I really enjoyed getting to know this family on a whole ‘nother level.
And now just the sisters. I think I have a soft spot for sisters since I have so many! They’re just so much fun : )
    aren’t they silly?! hehe
Thanks for such a wonderful shoot, Kelly! I love your family! I’m really looking forward to your move back home. We will definitely have more catch-up sessions! : )

    Shiloh Grace Hui

Born on December 16, my third sister’s first baby, the sixth grandchild in our family, and my new niece! Everyone, meet Shiloh Grace Hui!
Don’t you just love her name? It means “gift of God” and is the place in the Bible where the Ark of the Covenant was kept. I was able to visit the actual place during my trip to Israel 2 weeks ago…how cool is that?!
Ben and Eunice decided on Grace as a middle name, because 5 years ago from Shiloh’s birth date was what they called their “Day of Grace.” It was that night that they became a couple. I love how it all fits together! : )
Shiloh is adorable. Even when she was in the womb she would “shy” away when there was a lot of noise. Now, she just pretends to sleep when there are too many people around..so funny!
This beautiful quilt was hand-sewn by Ben’s mom, by the way. I really love all the details that went into it. So much love! Plus, it made such a fun backdrop for our shoot!
Oh Shi, we love you so much! Happy 1 month from your Ayi-4!
I never did post on Ben and Eunice’s baby shower. You can find BE baby! pictures on my facebook page. If you’re looking for your photobooth pictures, they’ll be up soon!

    The Kos

I’m so glad I get to post on the Kos this Christmas! The photoshoot was so fitting for this holiday season with all the decorations up at their house. It’s funny- we actually planned to have our shoot at a nearby park, but because of all the rain we ended up having to take photos at their house instead. I do love how they turned out, though! : )
I love the way Teresa dressed her kids! Everyone was in shades of purple and gray and with such fun accessories! It really made the shoot so fun. This next shot is one of my favorites- the kids are so cute fixing themselves up and helping each other look nice for the photo.
This is Edison and Teresa’s youngest, Josiah. He is so handsome in his dress shirt. And don’t you just love his smile?! This next one is Sammie. When I first met her she was super shy, but when I arrived at their house she was the first one to greet me. She was so excited to show me her toys, she immediately grabbed my hand and led me to her room. So cute! : )
And here is Ali, the oldest. She is so sweet- after the girls picked some home grown lavender flowers, Ali went inside to get a rubber band and tied them together for me.
    Now just the girls!
    and the boys…
What a beautiful family you guys have, Edison and Teresa! Thanks for a great shoot! : )

    MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!!

    Alexis Yong-Jie Wang

Alexis Yong-Jie Wang was born on Thanksgiving day. She is such a beautiful girl and I’m so glad I just happened to be in Boston to photograph her. It was so much fun visiting my cousin Stan and his wife Melissa and their new baby girl!
I love how these pictures are all super pink! Melissa mentioned how it made Alexis’ skin tone look good. I’d have to agree..you’re going to love wearing pink when you’re older, Alexis! : )
And now getting close and personal with baby Alexis…
Check out this super cute Christmas outfit from her Auntie (and my cousin!) Justina…perfect for the holidays!
Wow, she sure is something to be thankful for this year (and for all the years to come!). Congratulations again on your beautiful girl, Stan and Melissa! : ) Can’t wait to see you guys in California next year!
And a HUGE shoutout to Nate Lao for letting me use his Canon 5D Mark II for this shoot! Thanks Nate!

    Baby Esme

I had such a great time photographing Baby Esme last weekend. She is such a trooper! Having just come back from an unexpected visit to the doctor’s that morning Esme still did so well throughout the shoot.
When Jenny first asked me to do a babyshoot for her 3-month-old Esme I went to look up the meaning of her name. Esme means “love.” Isn’t that really beautiful?
And so I thought it would be more than appropriate to take pictures of the family with block letters spelling out the word LOVE. I really “love” how it turned out! : )
Jenny and her husband Arthur are high school sweethearts! Isn’t that fun?! : ) And I quickly found out they both graduated from UCLA, too (GO BRUINS!). Here’s their little bruin in the making…
    love her little fingers…
Baby Esme is such a cutie! The shoot was a lot of fun and I had just as much fun editing the photos. Congratulations on your beautiful daughter, Jenny and Arthur! She truly is loved! : )

    The Changs

I had the privilege of photographing the Changs last Sunday. They are such a beautiful family (as you can see below!) and we go waaay back! Dennis and Wendy are good friends of my older sisters and have known me since I was a little girl. It’s my turn to watch their girls grow up now and I absolutely love it! Dennis and Wendy have three little ones (who all look so much alike!) and it’s been such a joy seeing them through the different stages of their lives!
The Changs and I headed out for the Langham hoping to take a few shots by the Christmas tree they put up every year. Unfortunately it was too early on and there was no sign of Christmas (except for all the green!) at the hotel. We were very thankful for the picture-perfect weather, though!
Our first stop was at this bridge. How could we not take a few photos here after discovering its name- ” The Picture Bridge”!?
and then we moved on to another bridge! The girls loved it here. I had so much fun watching them stomp back and forth and then laugh at the funny sound their feet were making!
There are too many good spots at this hotel! In the back there’s this huge field of green. And what are the girls pointing at?
There was a squirrel on the wall for the longest time! I didn’t take a picture of it though, haha. So while the girls entertained themselves for a bit I got a quick photo of Dennis and Wendy before taking some more of the girls.
And even though the girls were having such a blast, it was time to go. I took a few last photos- here’s one of the two older girls running back to their parents. Goodbye Lagham, until next time!
