RANDOM FACTS

I use way too many exclamation marks, but I'm really just that excited!!!! I want to know what moves your heart. I say "that's so funny" quite a bit, but it can mean a number of things. I am a lover of donuts and tea. I floss every night before bed! I love the idea of being spontaneous, but rarely do things unplanned. I am the youngest of four girls, but I'm taller than all my sisters. I would love to open a cafe someday. I am fascinated by the bridegroom God and his ravished heart for all of humanity

    Happy 2 Months Benny!

    www.shelleypaulson.com

Happy 2 months of marriage to my favorite person! : ) What a blessing these two months have been. I love starting my mornings with you and planning out our schedule for the day together. I love trying new cafes and searching for the latest dessert craze with you, getting Osmanthus Oolong Tea (or just Green Tea, depending on our mood) spontaneously, and watching one or two or three episodes of our favorite tv show at the end of the day. Every day is like a new adventure with you and I am so grateful for this season in our lives! Thank you for being so good to me and loving me always (especially when I’m moody and pouty and being so unreasonable!). You are so patient with me and always so kind. Thank you, Benny. I love you sooo much! : ) Cheers to many more months! (…and years!)

    My Kansas City Engagement Session!

In exactly one month Benny and I will celebrate our 1 year by getting MARRIED! WOOHOO! We both still can’t believe this is real! haha. For our 6 month anniversary we took a trip to Kansas City where everything first started for us. We thought it would be special to have our engagement session there to remember the beginning stages of our relationship. Kansas City will forever hold a special place in our hearts! : ) Unfortunately, we both caught the stomach flu on that trip so it was kind of a crazy experience, haha. Benny was just recovering from it and I was still going through it. In fact, we had to make an emergency stop for me to use the bathroom on the way to the shoot! But thankfully, we made it through the session alive and have these beautiful photographs by Steven Michael to remember our engagement season by. Thank you Steven!

And yay Benny! We are almost there! Happy 11 months!

    Happy Birthday Daddy!

Today my dad celebrates another year of life! Benny and I took a field trip out to Descanso Gardens with my parents this morning (they LOVE these kinds of places!) and we so enjoyed all the beautiful flowers in bloom! If you haven’t already been, check out these Tulips and Flowering Crabapples (The white flowers- I know, funky name!) before it’s too late! And tonight we will be celebrating with Thai food and some Marie Callender pies! Yay, HAPPY BIRTHDAY DADDY!

    in just a little while…

Spent some time looking through my parents’ wedding album last night. So beautiful! I can’t believe this will be me in just a little while!

    I SAID YES!

I can’t believe it’s already been a month since I said YES! Wow, what a crazy journey it has been so far! A lot of you have been asking me how Benny proposed and I try my best to describe the details, but finally here are some pictures : )

So I had NO IDEA this was about to happen. We had just gone out to a late dinner + dessert and I was expecting to come home and rest because I was shooting a wedding the next day. It was just past 12am when we got home, December 23rd, my 25th birthday! (yes, I shot a wedding on my birthday! haha). But instead of parking by my house like Benny usually does, he drove straight into my backyard! The first thing I saw were tons of lights on both sides. I started freaking out JUST a tiny bit thinking this must be a really nice birthday surprise or…something! NO WAY was he going to propose..was he?! No wayyy…! We parked and he invited me out for a walk…
It was beautiful! Never had I seen my backyard this nice! haha. Benny planned for everything to be displayed kind of like an art exhibit and so we walked through each part.
You might be wondering why there’s a little girl’s bike and a Hello Kitty scooter on display. These were shipped all the way from Kansas City to Los Angeles for this very night! The bike and scooter played such a big part in our relationship, because I learned how to ride a bike for the very first time in KC and Benny was there to cheer me on! After that day as I practiced outside, Benny would join along, riding my niece’s Hello Kitty scooter by my side. And that was the beginning of us! haha. Below, instagram cookies that I ordered for Benny for our 1 month anniversary! verses that really spoke to us this season + ice skates, ordered from the place where we had one of our first dates! Everything that was displayed meant something special to us. Thank you Benny for thinking of all these things! < even his car was part of the exhibit! hehe and then it happened!! I couldn’t believe it! ENGAGED?! I loved the details from that night so much I went outside the next morning to capture them in natural light too, hehe. THANK YOU to everyone who helped put this together! And thaaat was how it happened! THANK YOU Benny for putting so much thought into everything and making the night so special for me! I loved it! Ahhhh, can’t believe we are gonna get married!! : )

Goodbye Los Angeles, Hello Kansas City!

Good morning and happy Tuesday! Today I am heading out to Kansas City for the next three weeks and I am SO excited to see these silly (and terribly cute!) faces! AND! I will be welcoming my new baby nephew into this world while I’m there, too! Ahh, can’t wait to meet him! : )

Follow my adventures in Kansas City through instagram (@leener104) and/or twitter (@liueileen). See you again in three weeks, LA!

Step Aerobics and A Beautiful Sunset

Tonight I attended my first Step Aerobics class and to my surprise, I really enjoyed it! The instructor was super sweet, but pretty intense; I was falling behind the whole time! haha. Still, I feel pretty good and got quite a workout from the class. I am now treating myself to a yummy bowl of Rocky Road ice cream to celebrate! : )

On a different note, did you all see the sunset tonight?! It was beautiful! My parents and I were walking my sister’s family to their car after dinner and we all just stood there for a moment to enjoy all the colors in the sky. I’m so glad I went to grab my camera and snapped these pictures of my parents before the sun set : )
have a great rest of the week! : )

    Lillian’s Summer Fruit Galette!

Hello everyone and happy Tuesday! : ) I am SO SO excited to share my first food post (instagram pics don’t count!) with you all today!

Last week I had the pleasure of meeting Lillian Lin, a super talented young lady who is writing her own cook book. How amazing is that?! She was so sweet, she brought over one of her fruit galettes to share and I was so excited to photograph it I waited until I got some good shots the next morning before I even tried it (I also made a quick stop at the supermarket to pick up the fruits she included into the galette! haha). I love love love how these came out and can’t wait to experiment more with food photography! : )

Lillian, thank you so much for the delicious fruit galette! It was SO GOOD and I can’t wait until your cook book comes out so we can all try more of your yummy food!
